I used the time to work on an upcoming presentation as part of an on line event titled "the Poetic Medicine Summit." This is sponsored by the Institute of Poetic Medicine in Palo Alto, CA. It is a zoom workshop open to participants nationally and internationally. I am among a small number of poets presenting our work and engaging participants in writing connected to our projects and how we use our own and others' poetry with groups to encourage them to speak and honor their own voices and experiences--both trauma and resilience, losses and joys. This includes needing to create and collate a diverse and meaningful packet of sample poems I need to submit soon! When not focused on this deadline or my own poetry writing I used the time to look through older poems and came across a poem I wrote for Len and Miriam, not long before they left Sou'wester! I will include it in the package I will mail today.
