I am writing/compiling a book about my best friend, our friendship of 15 years, his death from cancer in 2020 at age 36, and my experience of caregiving and grief. The work interweaves new essays about the year he was ill (that also flashback to earlier times) with ephemera from our personal archives spanning our early 20's up until my friend's death (notes, poems, journal entries, text messages, emails, lists, videos, photos, objects, etc.). Also included are excerpts from a decade and a half of hand-written letter correspondence between us.
