Describe your experience at the residency.: I entered the residency the personal challenge to create a little book in a week. I wanted to experiment with place-based art and guide-making, while featuring one of my favorite bike paths: the Discovery Trail. I biked up and down the path, mapping it, drawing, and trying to capture what was of note. I brought my home printer and produced the books in the cabin. I loved the quiet mid-week grounds of the Sou'wester, riding by the ocean as the light shifted and the wildlife tittered, and visiting the sauna each night to unwind from all that pedaling.
