Describe your experience at the residency.
It was a rather interesting week, or 3 days I should say.. I got sick with a cold shortly after I arrived and ended up leaving a day early. It was raining most the time so I got to know the inside of my trailer Jet pretty well :) I had some opportunities to explore the area, the ocean and trails nearby.
Tell us about the work you made — title and description.
Lonely 1: An exploration in solitude. Does alone have to mean lonely? A single unit in the spotlight appears isolated and alone, but one amongst others blends in and is not. A misconception in solitude is the expectation that it is not by choice. Cover me up: A look at nostalgia of place; Through revisiting and recreating memories of the past. What defines our experience of a place? The location? The people we are with? The stories we have heard? Our sense of place is altered with every experience we have there, what new knowledge we gain.
